Bev Jennings
"If it were possible to have a life absolutely free from every feeling of sin, what a terrifying vacuum it would be!" - Cesare Pavese.
Bev Jennings work is a celebration of sin. Her one-off ceramic pieces are hand built with a specific sin in mind, raku fired and put on display for all to worship and revere. The idea of punishment in hell fascinates Bev and using Dante's 'The Divine Comedy' as a reference she has investigated the concept of sin and retribution and decided to honour it.
Bev Jennings graduated in 2007 from Manchester Metropolitan University (Cheshire) with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Crafts. She specialises in ceramics and textiles, with ceramics being her main focus. She lives in Stoke-on-Trent with her husband and two children. She is currently setting up a ceramic studio at home to enable her to continue with her work.
